About CBD

CBD Extraction Process

CBD is a natural, organic product obtained from the hemp plant which is 100% legal. There is a key differentiator between CBD producers that results in a great deal of difference in the quality of the product. This is quite simply the manner in these companies extract CBD from the raw plant. There are many methods through which cannabinoids can be extracted, with the most effective being Supercritical CO2 extraction. This is the method used in all PSR UK products.

This method utilizes changes in pressure and temperature, to completely and effectively separate the individual compounds. This sophisticated method causes the right substances to separate based on their weight and mass, with some falling to the bottom and some rising to the top.

Once the extraction has taken place,  we regularly use third party accredited, independent laboratories to test for all the requisite compounds and ensure that each product is of the highest grade and quality. We provide the reports to you and anyone who requests them because we believe in complete transparency and accountability.

In this methodical and scientific way, we proudly stand by our products and guarantee that all of our products are of the highest quality and ensure that they are safe for every member of your family.

The Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is made up of a collection of cell receptors and corresponding molecules. The natural chemical messengers that fit these receptors are called endocannabinoids. These are responsible for transmitting certain messages between the cells in your body, to trigger them to start and stop certain processes. Each time endocannabinoids bind to a cell,  they relay messages to give that cell instructions they need to carry on with what they are meant to do.

Certain cannabinoid receptors are more concentrated in specific regions. CB1 receptors are found primarily in the central nervous system. CB2 receptors are found more often on immune cells, in the peripheral nervous system, and in the gastrointestinal tract. The wide variety of locations where these receptors are found, tells us how important endocannabinoids are for various bodily functions.

The endocannabinoid system helps to maintain optimal balance in the body – known as homeostasis. The balance includes overall well-being, mood, hunger, sleep, immune function, sex drive, pleasure and reward, bodily sensations, memory, and temperature regulation. When the endocannabinoid system is disrupted or depleted, any one of these things can fall out of balance.
